Endangered Species Act and Market Opportunities

Description: This webinar will discuss the causes of species depletion and the role of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) on species recovery. It will provide examples of endangered species in Pennsylvania and other parts of the US and talk about how the ESA is supporting new conservation markets to support private lands. Current challenges to the ESA will also be discussed.Speaker: Melissa Kreye, Assistant Professor of Forest Resources Management
Speaker Bio: Melissa Kreye is an Extension Specialist on the Forests and Wildlife Extension Team at Penn State. Her research/extension program is called Forest Benefits and Values with a special focus on forest and wildlife conservation. Before coming to Penn State she spent several years in Florida working with forest and range landowners to advance the protection of endangered species on working landscapes.
