Huzaifah Fakhrul Anuar, an international student from Malaysia, describes his experiences growing up in a middle-class family, attending various boarding schools, and preparing to study abroad. He discusses the differences he has noticed between his hometown and State College, Pennsylvania, such as the limited food options and lack of 24/7 shops. Academically, Huzaifah is struggling with physics but doing well in his other computer science courses. As an international student, he feels somewhat supported by the university but wishes there were more opportunities specifically for international students. Huzaifah has been actively trying to build a community at Penn State by joining various clubs and organizations, though he has had to balance his extracurricular involvement with his academic responsibilities.
