Nikki Giovanni spoke and read her poetry in the Walnut Building on
the Penn State campus on Friday, April 6, 1973. She spoke about the
relevance of fraternities and sororities, the all-volunteer army, the
importance of traveling to Africa, black men dating white women, and
communication between men and women. Giovanni read several of her
favorite poems, including "Revolutionary dreams, " "Communication, "
"Butterflies, " and "All I Gotta Do."
